We’ve already seen Lea leave and come back on The Good Doctor before. There are concerns that she’s leaving again after the recent storyline.
There was a lot going on during The Good Doctor Season 6, Episode 10. A lot of the episode was focused on saving Lea and her unborn child.
We picked up three months after the fall finale, with Lea heading to her first ultrasound. There, the OB found a part of her uterus that was thinning, so she needed to be admitted for observation. The first surgery seemed to go well until an artery attached to some scar tissue and burst. She needed a life-saving second surgery.
Would she survive? Would The Good Doctor write out Lea in a horrific way for Shaun? We have all the details.
Lea survived on The Good Doctor Season 6, Episode 10
There was some good news. Had Lea not already been in the hospital, she may have died. However, Shaun wanted to make sure that she had the best medical care, and being admitted into the hospital was the best way to do that.
The team of surgeons saved Lea’s life. The baby is also fine, and it looks like the show is doing another time jump in the next episode based on the size of the bump.
Lea isn’t leaving The Good Doctor. Shaun isn’t going to face the loss of his wife and unborn child in one go. Of course, expect more trouble for this pregnancy. Since when don’t medical dramas include some sort of horrific birth story for the main characters? We’ll probably see one at the end of this season.
The Good Doctor airs Mondays at 10/9c on ABC. Catch up on Hulu the following day.
