What is All That Breathes on HBO about?

This year, the 95th Academy Awards are recognizing All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, Fire of Love, A House Made of Splinters, and Navalny in the Documentary Feature Film category. One other who could be taking home the prestigious award is Hindi-language documentary All That Breathes.

The Oscar-nominated doc had a world premiere in January 2022 at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. And very soon, those who have HBO and HBO Max will be able to watch it as well! The almost two-hour story debuts Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023 on HBO at 9 p.m. ET, and begins streaming on HBO Max the same day as well.

What is All That Breathes on HBO about?

All That Breathes is a documentary that portrays the importance of coexistence between people and animals. Brothers Nadeem and Mohammad have set up a makeshift avian basement hospital to care for the rapidly declining bird of prey in their city, the black kite.

With increasing environmental toxicity and social unrest, the two work hard to do all they can to rescue the injured birds and help return them to the skies, per the synopsis. Their task is so important to them, as the animals are essential to the ecosystem in New Delhi, India.

The trailer gives us a look at the majestic birds, the brothers’ small but mighty set up, and a glimpse at the environmental pollution and social unrest that effects everyone’s environment. Check out the video below:
