Teen Wolf: The Movie takes place 15 years after the show’s finale, so our beloved characters are no longer navigating young adulthood. They’re grown people, who still remain connected with one another, but are living separate lives for the most part.

They’re dragged back together when the Nogitsune is released. The trickster wreaked havoc when it possessed Stiles and now it’s back after being captured and neutralized in the show. The person who unleashed the demon on the world had a vendetta against the Pack and wanted them to pay for what had been done to him.

Who’d been harboring a grudge so strong that he was willing to plunge the world into chaos? Here’s what we know about the character who brought the demon back!

Who released the Nogitsune (and why) in Teen Wolf: The Movie?

Spoilers ahead of Teen Wolf: The Movie

Surprise, surprise. It was Adrian Harris. The last time we’d seen the Beacon Hills High science teacher, he’d been tied to a tree in the season 3 episode, “Unleashed,” and garrotted. According to the Teen Wolf Wiki, it was assumed he’d died and was used as a sacrifice for the Darach. However, his body was never found, so technically he was missing not dead.

Harris unleashed the Nogitsune as revenge for getting caught up in the Pack’s supernatural shenanigans. You’d have thought he’d have learned his lesson considering the last time he partnered with a vengeful being it didn’t work out well for him. He’d done all that the Darach had told him to do and he was still betrayed.

But we guess hatred will make you that foolish. Harris wanted to see the now grown students he’d terrorized suffer for what happened to him, but he ultimately didn’t get his wish.

dark. Next. Why isn't Dylan O'Brien in the Teen Wolf movie?
