Fire Country got a special episode straight after the AFC Championship game. It included a cover of Ring of Fire, but who sang it?

Fire Country is most definitely heating up. The episode following the AFC Championship game did not disappoint, and it brought us Gabriela and Bode’s first kiss. Yes, the moment we’ve waited all season for. Of course, that means there will be more trouble and drama, and we’re here for it.

After they kissed, we got that reminder that this series is all about wildfires and heated moments. A man started a fire in the woods while the song Ring of Fire played.

This wasn’t the version of Ring of Fire that we’re used to by Johnny Cash. This was a slower version, but who sang it?

Matthew Mayfield sang Ring of Fire in Fire Country

Matthew Mayfield is the name of the artist. He’s a singer and songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama. He originally sang lead vocals in Moses Mayfield, but the band broke up in 2008 and he followed on with a solo career. He usually plays solo acoustic, but will now and then have a backing band working with him.

He has seven independently released EPs and six studio albums. Some of the studio albums have some of his work from the independent EPs.

we’re sure to see his name expand now that he’s been featured in a series like Fire Country. As more people get to know who he is, they’ll want to hear more of his work. He might want to make sure he’s on TikTok!
