Did John Winchester die on The Winchesters Episode 9?
The Winchesters Episode 9 brought John face-to-face with vampires, and his fate seemed sealed. Did he end up dying in the new episode?
One of the things about a prequel series is that we have an idea of who will live through the series. This Supernatural prequel has to see Mary and John alive by the end of it. They are Dean and Sam’s parents, after all.
That doesn’t stop shows from putting main characters in danger. And we know with a show like Supernatural that main characters can die but be brought back to life. So, what happened in the new episode when John’s fate seemed to be in the hands of a vampire? Did John Winchester end up dying?
Is John Winchester dead in The Winchesters?
The Winchesters did the thing that Supernatural was always good at: killing main characters. Yes, John Winchester did end up dying in Episode 9, but not the way we expected. It wasn’t at the hands of a vampire.
It was actually his mother. John found a loophole in his fate. Millie ended up electrocuting her son, killing him. She and Mary then revived him with CPR—and the relationship cat was out of the bag with John coming back from the dead.
Of course, John was told he couldn’t change his fate. That was sealed, so what did finding a loophole mean? It looks like this is the vampire that ends up taking Dean’s life in the future. It looks like Winchester men can’t avoid the Fates. They will always find a way to collect.
This storyline did lead to a bigger look into the Men of Letters. It’s time for them (and even us) to learn more about this secret society.
