Dear Edward episodes: How many episodes are in season 1?
By Sabrina Reed
Dear Edward, Jason Katims’ latest tearjerker is set to premiere Friday, Feb. 3 on Apple TV+. The series, which is adapted from the critically acclaimed novel by Ann Napolitano, follows 12 year old Edward Adler (Colin O’Brien) in the aftermath of a tragic plane crash. He’s the sole survivor and must contend with a life without his immediate family as he adjusts to his new normal living with his aunt.
As the streamer explains it, the show is “a heartbreaking, life-affirming and uplifting story about survival, resilience, connection and the examination of what makes us human.” This is done through storytelling that focuses on Edward’s grief and that of a diverse ensemble cast of characters navigating life without their loved ones.
The grief they all carry bonds them in a way few others would understand, as such unexpected friendships and romances form along with a community they can share their struggles with as they cope with what’s happened.
Dear Edward will be a weekly release on Apple TV+. Here’s what we know about the first season’s episode count and release schedule.
