House of the Dragon Season 2 is not coming in February 2023

We are ready to see what’s next in the Targaryen civil war, but we don’t get to see it yet. House of the Dragon Season 2 won’t premiere this month.

There is no doubt that we want more episodes of House of the Dragon. Once we got over the time jumps, the show was able to get into the drama and intensity of the civil war. It’s Blacks vs. Greens, and we’re ready to see how the war plays out.

The second season promises a lot more drama and trouble. Rhaenyra will want revenge for her son Luc, but it will all come at a cost. You can read Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin to get ready for it, but this doesn’t give the full story. The TV show goes into far more detail and reveals some of the unknown secrets.

The bad news is there’s a wait for the TV series. We won’t get to see House of the Dragon Season 2 in February 2023, and that shouldn’t be too surprising. Filming hasn’t even started!

When will House of the Dragon Season 2 premiere?

We have a long wait ahead of us. Production List shares that the series is set to start filming on March 6, 2023. Yes, that is next month. This is a show that takes a long time to film, and then what seems like even longer in post-production. Those intricate dragons take a lot of time to create!

Casey Bloys did suggest that we’d be waiting until spring 2024 at the earliest, and that is what we’re looking at. We may even need to wait a little longer. It will depend on how long it takes to film the episodes.

The wait will be worth it. I’d rather have a high-quality TV series than a rushed one.
