You on Netflix has just dropped the first half of Season 4. It has to come to an end eventually, but what will that end be? Will it be with Joe’s death?

At one point, it looked like You wouldn’t go past one season. Then Netflix saved it and we’re onto Season 4. The first five episodes have dropped, and they bring us a slightly different Joe Goldberg. He’s a man looking for redemption.

Whether that’s because he just wants to survive or because he actually wants redemption is another thing. It could be explained in the next set of episodes dropping in March, or it could be something we only find out in the end.

When is the end going to be? It looks like Season 5 could be the last, but will that mean the last of Joe Goldberg?

Sera Gamble talks the end of You on Netflix

Sera Gamble has brought us this excellent series for four seasons so far. She’s not sharing whether or not Joe Goldberg will die in the end, but it is a conversation she’s had with her team and even with Penn Badgley himself.

This is a series that focuses on a bad guy doing bad things. It came out at the height of the #MeToo movement, and now we’re seeing a lot of men in real life having to face fighting for redemption. That is a journey Joe is on right now. Is it for pure reasons, though?

As a TV show, Gamble knows that she needs to bring justice for Joe’s victims. That’s something she talked about with The Hollywood Reporter, where she shared that everyone is currently talking about what justice is. Is justice Joe’s death? Is it him facing prison for the crimes he has committed? Is it being left a lonely man with nobody to turn to? What would hurt him the most?

One of the complaints about Gossip Girl‘s ending was that Badgley’s character Dan didn’t face any justice for his website. Could You correct that wrong with Joe Goldberg? It sounds like it.
