The last time the Chiefs took home the Super Bowl trophy was in 2020. The team played the San Francisco 49ers, and was behind until the fourth quarter. Mahomes led the team in a comeback they’d become known for during the NFL season, winning 31-20. Mahomes went home with the MVP award.
They did make it to the Super Bowl in 2021, but lost against the Buccaneers with Tom Brady as Quarterback. They lost 31-9.

So, how many times over the years have the Kansas City Chiefs won the big game? Out of all four appearances, they’ve won twice including the win against the 49ers. The win before 2020 was in 1970 when the Chiefs beat the Vikings 23-7.
Yes, there was one appearance before the 1970 win. The Chiefs went up against the Packers in the very first game, which was actually known as the AFL-NFL World Championship back in 1967. They did lose against the Packers 35-10.
