Court documents allege Teen Mom’s Ryan Edwards threatened wife Mackenzie with a knife

Former Teen Mom OG star Ryan Edwards is under hot water again as court documents have come out which accuse him of terrible actions. According to The Sun, the 35-year-old father of Bentley, Jagger, and Stella is having trouble with his wife Mackenzie, who petitioned to have an order of protection against him.

Fans of the long-running reality show know that Ryan has a long past with the law, getting arrested numerous times on drug charges. This time around, he’s been accused of domestic abuse, with the court documents alleging he even threatened Mackenzie with a knife in front of their children.

In a February petition, Mackenzie reportedly recalled a fight between her and Ryan which took place on January 15, 2023. She said her co-worker called the police after the following allegedly occurred:

"“Arguing, Ryan punched holes in the walls and doors. [He] held me up by my neck to the wall. Threw me down in hallway and said if he could not have me no one could. Opened pocket knife, put to my back like he was going to kill me. This was in front of children. I tried to leave, he smashed my phone, took my car keys.”"

Mackenzie also discussed a fight that took place on January 24, 2023, recalling:

"“[Ryan] came into bedroom where I was laying down. Pretending like he’s going to punch my face. Breaks bed with me in it. Getting in my face yelling. I went to get kids and leave. He wouldn’t let me leave. Threw me down in living room. Threw menthol nicotine in my eyes.”"

According to The Sun, Ryan and Mackenzie are set to appear in court later this month. Mackenzie received a temporary order of protection.

Ryan first came into the spotlight in 16 and Pregnant, the MTV reality show which ran from 2009 to 2014. Ryan and his ex-girlfriend Maci Bookout appeared in the first-ever episode as they learned they were pregnant with their first child as teenagers. Maci was just 16 at the time. The show saw enough success that it spawned several spinoffs, including Teen Mom, Teen Mom 2, Teen Mom 3, and Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant. Ryan appeared in multiple seasons of Teen Mom before getting axed.

Maci’s ex was fired from Teen Mom in 2021, along with his wife Mackenzie and his parents, Larry and Jen Edwards. Since then, fans of the franchise have kept up with the couple on Instagram and through the tabloids. Through the years Ryan has faced his fair share of ups and downs with substance abuse and relationships, and that sadly continues.
