5 shows like Carnival Row to watch after the final season
Fans of the Prime Video series Carnival Row, have already been extremely patient between seasons 1 and 2, but unfortunately, there will not be any future seasons of the series. Carnival Row first premiered in summer 2019, and but because of delays with production, the second and final season has only just premiered in February 2023.
The series is an allegory and tells the tales of mythological immigrant creatures who’ve lost their homelands and are struggling to coexist with humans (many of whom don’t want them around). Carnival Row is a gritty fantasy series that also feels like steampunk period drama — with romance, mystery, fantasy, and crime drama all built into the story.
Even though Carnival Row will not come back with future seasons, there are several other television shows available to stream that are similar. Here are five shows like Carnival Row we recommend trying after the final season

Penny Dreadful: City of Angels is set in 1938 Los Angeles and follows two detectives working to solve a gruesome murder in the city. This limited series is currently available to stream on Showtime.
The Witcher
One of the most popular dark fantasy series on Netflix, The Witcher tells the story of Geralt of Rivia, a “mutated monster-hunter for hire.” Not only are the genres similar, but also, the metaphors within the stories about human society are also very similar to Carnival Row.
