Station 19 Season 6 picked up with the events from the fall finale. The biggest question was about whether Maya Bishop would live or die.

Caution: There are spoilers from the Station 19 Season 6 winter premiere.

The winter premiere had to pick up with answers to two major questions: Would Maya Bishop survive and would Meredith’s house remain standing? We got answers to both (and yes, the house still stands). What about Maya Bishop, though?

While the others were out on a call, Jack remained at the firehouse. He was the one to find Maya Bishop collapsed in the gym and immediately got her to Grey Sloan Memorial. The others didn’t find out what happened to Bishop until the end of the episode.

Is Bishop still alive in Station 19?

There is some good news. The team isn’t completely one OG character down. Maya Bishop is alive, but she’s not well.

It turns out that the excessive exercise has caused a major health problem, and she is showing no signs of taking that seriously. Carina had no choice but to sign papers to say that her wife could be held at the hospital for 72 hours. It’s an involuntary hold, and naturally, Maya wasn’t happy about this decision.

It could be the end of Carina and Maya, though. In her anger at the situation, Maya made it clear that if Carina left her there, their marriage was done. Carina commented that she was going to lose Maya either way. She’d rather not have Maya and know she’s alive than lose Maya permanently.

At the end of the episode, Maya was silent and angry in the hospital bed. Andy went to see her and just sat by her in silence. Now it’s time to see what’s to come for each of the characters. Can Maya admit that she does have a problem with excessive exercise and look after her health? What will this mean for her career as a firefighter?
