The big mystery on Walker Independence has been around who killed Liam Collins, Abby’s husband who was meant to be the new sheriff of Independence. She’d initially been under the impression that Tom Davidson had murdered him. He looked exactly like the man in the hat she’d seen that night even down to the facial hair.

Abby had gathered a motley crew of misfits to help her prove that Tom, who took up the role of sheriff in Liam’s stead, had blood on his hands. But when his brother Shane showed up in town, she began to doubt her once strongly held conviction. Shane also fit the description of the man that shot Liam.

The show left viewers wondering just which brother did the dirty deed. Shane’s reckless streak paired with his violent outburst made him a prime suspect. But Tom’s penchant for doing his family’s bidding no matter the cost to his soul didn’t rule him out.

The season 1 finale, “Let Him Hang,” finally answered the question of who killed Liam Collins.

Did Shane Davidson kill Liam Collins on Walker Independence?

Yes. He shot Liam first and was injured in the process. He was stumbling away from the scene as Liam began to succumb to his wounds.

Did Tom Davidson kill Liam Collins on Walker Independence?

Also, yes. He finished the job his brother Shane started and put Liam out of his misery. Tom knew that Shane was far enough away from Abby that he wouldn’t be able to tell if he aimed to kill. So Tom shot her in the shoulder, so it looked like he’d taken her out like he was supposed to because he knew she’d find a way to survive. Technically both Davidson brothers are responsible for Liam’s murder. We certainly didn’t see that plot reveal coming.
