Scream is one of our favorite horror franchises here at Hidden Remote, so to say we are excited to watch Scream 6 is an understatement. Who else is ready for the thrills? The movie is in theaters this weekend, but fans are already wondering if there will be another chapter after this one. Is Scream 7 happening? Here’s what we know.

The latest Scream movie may not be set in Woodsboro as Ghostface has packed up and moved to New York City! This is not only going to be so interesting to see, but it also opens up so many possibilities in the direction the story can go. In other words, there could be more movies ahead. We’re crossing our fingers, but here’s what the Scream 6 directors have shared…

Is Scream 7 happening?

In an interview with Deadline at the Scream 6 movie premiere, the film’s directors, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet, were asked about the possibility of more movies to come. Bettinelli-Olpin share that they hope there will be more, commenting “we want to be watching Scream movies whether we’re involved or not for the rest of our lives.” Gillet agreed, adding that they are glad to see the franchise continue, “we’re so happy it’s back.”

So, what does this tell us? Honestly, not much. Of course, this isn’t necessarily bad news. It is very possible that the directors didn’t wish to share too much because it may spoil the events in Scream 6.

As soon as we learn more details about Scream 7, we will update this post with the latest so you don’t miss out! In the meantime, don’t miss Scream 6 exclusively in theaters on Friday, March 10.

The movie stars Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Jack Champion, Courtney Cox, Hayden Panettiere, and others. Scream 6 is rated R for strong bloody violence, language throughout, and brief drug use.

Next. March movies to watch (and skip). dark
