The Bold and the Beautiful recap (March 13): Hope chooses Thomas over Liam

Hope finally got around to telling Liam that she went back on her word. Today on The Bold and the Beautiful, she spent the majority of the episode at Forrester Creations with Thomas talking about their renewed partnership and informing Steffy of the change in their dynamic. Then she went home to her husband who spent his day talking to his brother, Wyatt, about how relieved he was to have gotten through to Hope about Thomas. Embarrassing!

Not only is Liam’s rival and nemesis working with his wife again, Hope and Thomas have also made an agreement to be amicable co-parents together. Though she was ecstatic to have Douglas return to the cabin, Hope did check in with Thomas to see how he felt about their son not choosing to live with him.

Thomas admitted that it was painful, but he’s trying to be happy for Douglas and Hope since he’s going to respect the cabin is where his son wants to live. He did assert that now he and Hope are in a better place they can make sure the custody agreement works for all of them. She didn’t dispute his statement so things could be looking up in that regard.

What happened today on The Bold and the Beautiful?

When Steffy walked into the main office, she was happy to see her brother and Hope in good spirits. They shared that they’ll be partnering up again for Hope for the Future and that Douglas had chosen to return to the cabin. Elated, Steffy mentioned they should get in touch with the judge to discuss next steps, but Hope informed her that she and Thomas already put a call in.

Interestingly, Hope neglected to pull Liam into the loop while this was going on. Steffy asked her what he thought of all of this and the Forrester siblings were surprised to learn that Hope hadn’t let him in on her decision. She admitted that they’d spoken about the possibility of Thomas returning to work on her line and Liam made his position clear. She also shared that she told him that she was going to say no to accepting Thomas back.

But, when it comes down to it, Hope loves the brand she created and she didn’t want to lose it. So, she chose to go against Liam’s wishes and her word to do what she thought was best. Thomas was taken aback and assured Hope that if his position on her team put a strain on her marriage he’d understand if she has to let him go. Hope didn’t respond to his offer, but it did seem to reassure her of the strides he’s been making to change.

Back at the cabin, Liam had just wrapped up his conversation with Wyatt. He’d expressed how much he dislikes the idea of Thomas being in their lives in any capacity. In fact, he’d prefer Thomas weren’t allowed around his wife at all, but with the two sharing a child, that’s not really possible.

Wyatt cracked a joke that with how weird things are for the Spencers right now, he wouldn’t be surprised if Bill and Thomas became friends since their father is into second chances thanks to his romance with Sheila. Liam shuttered at the thought.

His mood shifted when Hope came home. He greeted her as he usually does, bright and happy, but that quickly fell away after she explained her good news about Douglas coming back to the cabin was based on the child’s response to his parents working together again. The soap ended before Liam could express more than surprise that melted into disbelief and then anger, but I know we all can’t wait to hear what he has to say.

He blamed this whole situation on Thomas and Steffy, believing that the two were pushing Hope into a decision that she shouldn’t have to make. But they aren’t responsible for her deciding to change her mind and not even giving him the courtesy of a phone call to let him know what was going on. That’s all on his wife, so it’s about to be tense in the cabin.
