The Voice season 23 judges: Who is Niall on The Voice?

The Blind Auditions continue on tonight’s (March 14, 2023) episode of The Voice, with each of the four coaches continuing to build their teams! Season 23 is already off to a great start and we can’t wait to see where the competition goes.

Anyone watching the season knows by now that this is coach Blake Shelton’s last, as the country signer is ready to move on. He’s been a part of the competition series since the very beginning and has never missed a season! The next round of competition sees returning judge Kelly Clarkson, as well as all-new coach Chance the Rapper.

Another new face to the singing reality show also took a spot on the revolving red chair this year. So who is this new coach? We’ve got the answer for you below!

The Voice season 23 judges: Who is Niall on The Voice?

The new addition to The Voice this year is Irish singer-songwriter Niall Horan! Last year, season 22 had John Legend, Camila Cabello, and Gwen Stefani as the coaches alongside Shelton. Horan took over one of those roles in season 23, which is not uncommon with the NBC series. And he’s already proving himself to be a fearsome competitor!

While the 29-year-old didn’t get his start on The Voice, he’s more than familiar with how a singing competition series works and the effort that needs to be put in to succeed in that kind of environment. In 2010, boy band One Direction was formed on FOX singing competition series, The X Factor. Though they came in third place, the five-person group, including Horan, gained massive popularity and became one of the best-selling boy bands of all-time following the season’s end. Together, they released five albums with hits like “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Live While We’re Young,” and “Story of My Life.”

Unfortunately, the band announced they would be taking a break in 2016 and its members started creating their own music. Since then, the group has not come back together and they’ve all pretty much become solo artists. Horan has released two albums, “Flicker” and “Heartbreak,” and has a third one coming out in June 2023. One of his more known solo songs is “Slow Hands.”
