Have you heard the great news? For fans of television series Monk, we’re getting a reunion movie! Peacock announced the news that it has ordered the film for the streamer, and we’re just so excited!

The series brought together elements of mystery, comedy, and drama all in one to create the popular show. The film, titled Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie will feature the titular character of course having to solve a “very personal” investigation that has to do with his step-daughter Molly, a journalist getting married, Peacock shares.

This is a reunion movie after all! We’re going to see original cast members Tony Shalhoub return as the brilliant detective, as well as Ted Levine, Traylor Howard, Jason Gray-Stanford, Melora Hardin, and Hector Elizondo.

The mystery-drama was on the air for a long time though! Monk has a total of eight seasons, consisting of 125 episodes. All the installments are streaming on Peacock. The show debuted on television screens for the first time in July 2002 and came to an end in December 2009.

The series earned the title of most-watched scripted drama episode in 2009 of all-time. The last episode, “Mr. Monk and the End – Part II” saw 9.4 million viewers tuning in. Overall, the drama won eight Emmy Awards, one Golden Globe Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.
