Not caught up on Yellowjackets? While there are no season 2 spoilers below, we do dive into events from the first season. If you are behind, go stream the hit series on Showtime before reading ahead.
Oh, Shauna! You’re crazy, girl! But hey, gotta love her. It helps that the present-day character is portrayed by Melanie Lynskey, I love her! But wow is she ruthless! I’m telling you, it’s always the quiet ones we need to look out for. Teen Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) already had a few screws loose, but adult Shauna is a whole other story.
Why did Shauna kill Adam in Yellowjackets season 1?
Early on in the first season, Shauna meets Adam, after their cars were in a minor crash. They soon begin an affair. At the same time, Natalie, Shauna, and Taissa are working together to find out who’s blackmailing them. After finding newspaper headlines about the plane crash in Adam’s drawer, Shauna believes he is the one blackmailing the trio. And Shauna isn’t about to wait to find out, she’s all about acting now and asking questions later.
Natalie, Taissa, and Misty help Shauna dispose of Adam’s body and cover up any evidence. Later, Shauna learns that it wasn’t Adam at all — it was Jeff, Shauna’s husband. His plan was to scare them to get some cash for his failing business. Well, now he has a bigger problem as he and Shauna must come up with a plan to keep her from getting caught. Expect for season 2 to heavily focus on this!
Yellowjackets season 2 episode 1 premieres on Friday, March 24, at 12:01 a.m. ET on streaming, and airs on the Showtime network on Sunday, March 26, at 9 p.m. ET.
