When we heard Hilary Swank was leading a new television series, you know we signed up right away! That’s why the addition of Alaska Daily on ABC was so great, and the series has proven to be a great project for the actress. She plays Eileen Fitzgerald so well!
Joining her onscreen are Grace Dove as Roz Friendly, Jeff Perry as Stanley Cornik, Meredith Holzman as Claire Muncy, Matt Malloy as Bob Young, Pablo Castelblanco as Gabriel Tovar, Ami Park as Yuna Park, and Craig Frank as Austin Teague.
The March 23, 2023 episode, “Truth is a Slow Bullet,” we see the dream team, Eileen and Roz (Dove) both offered new jobs outside of Alaska. But first, the two do make progress on Gloria’s case and learn some new information. Elsewhere, Bob did something out of the ordinary for his character and was able to get his hands on records on Gloria’s phone.

* UPDATE 5/12/23 – Alaska Daily has been canceled by ABC.
As of this writing on March 24, 2023, we unfortunately don’t know for certain whether the drama will be returning for a second season. ABC has not cancelled nor renewed the series. It’s hard when we don’t know the answer, but all we can do now is wait for an announcement from the network.
In the meantime, we do have the season 1 finale to look forward to next week on Thursday, March 30, 2023! Episode 10, “Most Reckless Thing I’ve Ever Done” sees Eileen and Roz listening to the last call Gloria had, which will potentially lead them to the murderer before an innocent man goes to prison instead, per the synopsis. Elsewhere, there’s rumors another Alaskan newspaper might be opening up, which has the team looking into their competition and what it would mean for them.
The Alaska Daily finale airs Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC. Episodes are also available to stream on Hulu.
