Beckett is still drinking on the job, and everyone is sure of it. Did we just see the last of Captain Sean Beckett on Station 19? Is Josh Randall leaving the series?

Andy led a mutiny in Station 19 Season 6, Episode 11. After the death of Cooper in the previous episode, she wasn’t going to let something happen to her family. Everyone followed her, although Chief Ross is not happy with any of them right now. To be fair, they did break every single rule in the book, but they broke those rules for the right reasons.

During the episode, it looked like Beckett would end up making the ultimate sacrifice to save a man from a fire. The team got in to save everyone, but it’s clear that Beckett realizes that his time at Station 19 may be up.

In fact, it looked like Beckett was ready for his time to come. He laid down in the fire and waited for the flames to take him. That was suicide ideation, and Sullivan saw that 1000-yard stare when Station 19 saved Jose and Beckett.

Has Beckett left Station 19?

At the end of the episode, Ross gave the rest of the team a dressing down. She says she’s handling the situation, but it’s too little too late. Sullivan and Warren both point out that this isn’t just a man drinking on the job. He has a disease and he needs help for it. The problem is people aren’t ready to help him. They just want to ostracize him.

So, what has Beckett done realizing that everyone is against him? He’s left. He just took off, a little like how Jack suddenly took off at the end of Season 5. The difference here is that Beckett may not have a lot of people searching for him. In a way, I hope Sullivan does go in search for him. Sullivan understands addiction personally, and out of everyone, he’s the one who could help to get through to Beckett.

As of right now, it doesn’t look like the situation has been completely resolved. It’s going to be hard for Beckett to come back as captain, but I don’t think this is the last we’ve seen of the storyline as a whole. If it is, that’s a terrible and anti-climactic way of doing it.
