The Voice: What is the playoff pass in The Voice?

The Voice is back with a new season currently underway, and fans are eagerly anticipating what’s to come. As always, the coaches have brought their A-game, and the contestants have been impressing viewers with their incredible talents. The competition has been fierce, and after several rounds of blind auditions, the contestants have moved on to the battles round.

The iconic red chairs and the familiar voices of the coaches, including Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson are back with new coaches Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper joining the cast and giving them a run for their money already! The battles round promises to be an intense showdown, as the contestants go head-to-head in hopes of securing their spot in the competition.

We’ve already seen some amazing battles with more on the way as the coaches cut their team down ahead of the live shows. As in past seasons, our coaches have been provided with a steal during the round but this year they’ve also been given a brand new playoff pass which has piqued the curiosity of fans at home.

What is a playoff pass on The Voice?

This season, The Voice has introduced the playoff pass which allows them to not only save an artist who lost their battle, but offers them a major advantage!

Replacing the save during the battles is the playoff pass which allows each coach the chance to save an artist with the artist the playoff pass is used in getting to advance right to the playoffs! This means the four artists the coaches use their playoff pass on will get to skip the knockouts and go right to the playoffs!

It’s a new twist that could prove to be a game changer for the four artists who receive the playoff pass. And with just one playoff pass per coach, the coaches will have to be strategic with their use of the tool.
