Get ready to rumble when the fantasy action comedy film Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves premieres in theaters nationwide on Friday, March 31!

If you haven’t already heard, this movie is based on the tabletop role-playing fantasy game of the same name distributed by toy company Hasbro. The game-to-film adaptation features an ensemble cast of familiar big-screen talent including Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant.

It seems like the movie is already prepped and primed for audiences to enjoy with glowing reviews already flooding the news cycle but will kids be able to handle the in-theater experience? Read on to find out!

Is Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves appropriate for kids?

The MPAA gave Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves a “PG-13” rating. This means that some of the film’s material may be inappropriate for children under 13. For this specific film, that also includes the elements of “fantasy action/violence and some language.” Now, despite what the rating might suggest, this is a fun-filled fantasy comedy. Kids and teens are definitely encouraged to go see the movie. Many kids can fully enjoy an in real life Dungeons and Dragons game experience at as young as 10 years old. Even if you’re kids aren’t familiar with the game franchise, it’ll still be a blast to go watch it in-theaters. Still unsure if you’re willing to take your kids along for the ride?
