It’s crazy how fast this year has flown by because as we inch closer to the summer movie season, we are still getting an incredible amount of films being released on a weekly basis. In addition, you have one of the best movies from the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and a couple of movies based on games hitting theaters and streaming platforms.

Weekend movies to watch (and stream) today

  • Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, In Theaters
  • A Thousand and One, In Theaters
  • A Good Person,  In Theaters
  • Tetris, Apple TV+
  • Rye Lane, Hulu

The weekend’s biggest release comes from Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among ThievesDungeons & Dragons is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game that came out in 1974. While I have never played the game, I know many people that have and are really excited to see how they bring this world to life on the big screen. You have several powerhouse actors in the lead role, including Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, and Regé-Jean Page. It’ll be interesting to see how this movie plays with audiences and the box office due to its big budget.

If you’re looking for the perfect rom-com to watch this weekend, look no further than Rye Lane. When I saw this movie at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, I couldn’t wait to watch it over and over again. Director Raine Allen Miller has presented us with a modern take on the romantic comedy that will delight for generations to come. David Jonsson and Vivian Oparah’s electric chemistry carries this movie to another level.
