The tension between Phyllis and Diane has boiled over on The Young and the Restless. The two have been at each other’s throats–literally–since Diane made her way back to Genoa City. Not even the Bicentennial celebration, hosted by Nikki and Victor Newman, was safe from another round of the rivals’ loathing for one another spilling out into drama.

The heat was turned all the way up and the stakes were raised Soap Dirt reports since Diane was seen choking Phyllis by Jack, Summer Newman, and Kyle Abbott. What they didn’t see, however, was that Diane’s nemesis set her up for a rather lofty fall. Phyllis started the altercation by shoving her but there were no witnesses to what sparked Diane’s reaction.

As such, when Phyllis collapsed all eyes turned to the woman responsible. It didn’t help matters that Diane had said life would be better if her rival were dead. But is Phyllis really on the brink of death? Here’s what we know!

Does Phyllis die on Young and the Restless?

Absolutely not. Scheming is a game Phyllis knows how to play well and this plot was devised to ensure Diane is run out of town. What better way to shove her out of Genoa City than accusations of attempted murder. However, if the ambulance crash was a part of her plan, she’s going to have some explaining to do to her children since they were put through the horror of being told their mother died while trapped in an emergency vehicle that was on fire.

Spoilers ahead of The Young and the Restless

Spoiler Dirt shared a leaked image that showed there’s a memorial service set to air on the soap and it’s Phyllis’ picture on the easel. There’s no context for this snippet of a future episode, so this could be a dream or an actual fake death plot. We’ll have to keep watching to find out, but it doesn’t look like Michelle Stafford is leaving the role of Phyllis Summers any time soon.

The same can’t necessarily be said for James Hyde who plays Jeremy Stark on The Young and the Restless.

Is James Hyde leaving The Young and the Restless?

Soap She Knows reports that a recent Instagram post from Hyde’s account could be pointing toward his upcoming exit. In the post he said:

"In life you have to be ready for what’s next!! I’m ready let’s go!! #nothinglastsforever #blessedandgrateful @netflix @netflixlat @cbstv @sony"

While that’s not confirmation that he’ll be leaving the soap soon, the “Nothing lasts forever” hashtag has fans wondering if Hyde is alluding to departing from Genoa City. Perhaps this revenge plot of his and Phyllis’ will have something to do with it. His character Jeremy surprised everyone when he announced that they’d gotten married days prior.
