Why aren’t Inosuke and Zenitsu in Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc?

Now that we’re a few more episodes into the hair-raising release that is Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc, you probably have tons of questions that need to be answered.

Some questions may surround the abilities of the Upper Rank Demon, Hantengu, including how he is able to split himself into four different entities or why he took that unsightly form before we knew a little more about it. Other questions may involve how Genya Shinazugawa acquired a gun in a society where such technology is seldom used. However, the most popular question most audiences have pertains to the whereabouts of two characters that everyone has come to adore — Inosuke Hashibira and Zenitsu Agatsuma.

So, why are these two main characters absent in the 2023 installment? Where did they go? And, more importantly, will they ever be back? Here’s everything we know!

Where are Inosuke and Zenitsu in Demon Slayer 2023?

As discussed in the very first episode of Swordsmith Village, after Inosuke and Zenitsu physically recovered from the events in the Entertainment District, they were sent off to accomplish their own respective missions. (Zenitsu, in particular, is off in the mountains, doing his best to not miss his crush, Nezuko, too much.)

When the two will return is unknown, as the latest arc aims to have us learn more about Tanjiro and the two Hashira he is set to learn more from. But don’t worry, this isn’t the last time you’ll ever see Inosuke and Zenitsu!

Will Inosuke and Zenitsu be in Demon Slayer 2023?

Outside of their brief cameo at the start of Demon Slayer season 3, fans can expect brief glimpses of Inosuke and Zenitsu in other characters’ memories. Even so, the two won’t be back in a main role until the next arc, the Hashira Training Arc.

Just like you, we’ll miss seeing those two rambunctious demon slayers, as they both bring out the more playful side of Tanjiro. But so long as you’re patient, you will be seeing them again soon!
