Ghosts Season 2, Episode 21 finally solved the mystery behind Alberta’s murder. Who was the killer? Was it her sister after all?

Caution: This post contains major spoilers for Ghosts Season 2, Episode 21.

Ghosts didn’t leave us waiting too long in the series to get answers about Alberta’s murder. Despite the popularity of Sam’s podcast, she was given one more episode to solve the crime. That’s it; the podcast has now been canceled. So, Sam, Jay, and the spirits of the house had to get to the bottom of the case.

Jay’s murder board kept taking everyone back to Alberta’s sister. She didn’t want to believe her sister would do such a thing over a man, but that’s where it kept going. That was especially the case when they ruled out the other female suspect who was actually there to help catch Alberta and Earl in their bootlegging run rather than go there to kill Alberta.

Did Alberta’s sister kill her in Ghosts?

At one point, there was the possibility of Al Capone. It turns out that he loved Alberta but she didn’t want him. So, when he was spotted pouring rat poison into the gin, everyone started to suspect him.

Well, then it turned out Alberta’s sister took the bottle. Al wasn’t trying to kill Alberta but was planning on drinking the laced gin himself. He wanted to end his life over his love for Alberta.

It all went back to Alberta’s sister. Just as Alberta was ready to accept that, Hetty spoke up. She’s known all along. It turns out that the “T” in the letter wasn’t for Theresa after all. There was another T at the New Year’s Eve party, and Hetty knew him. That “T” was for Thomas, Hetty’s own son.

Yes, it was Thomas who decided to kill Alberta. Thomas and Earl were in a secret love affair and Thomas was jealous of Alberta that she got to be with Earl. So, to get her out of the way, he decided to use the laced alcohol that Theresa had given him to dispose of and put it outside Alberta’s room.

Hetty had known this for decades and kept it a secret. Alberta was angry to find out that Hetty had hidden the truth the whole time. Why bring it up now, though? Well, Hetty didn’t want Alberta to believe her own sister did it when she didn’t. She couldn’t live with that, so decided it was time to tell the truth. This could be the end of their friendship, but at least Alberta now knows who killed her.
