The Eurovision Song Contest is definitely like no other competition! The contest is one of the biggest in Europe and has different countries, mostly in the European Union, taking part. And while that’s the case and it takes place in Liverpool this year, are we in the U.S. able to watch it too?

There’s 37 countries participating this year including Austria, Finland, Ireland, Spain, and many more! You can head over to the Eurovision website to see the full list. The contest is a big deal because it’s known to have been the reason that some of the greatest singers we know gained the recognition they needed to become the stars that they are today. The biggest ones are Celine Dion, as well as ABBA and Olivia Newton-John.

So how can you tune in? When and where can you watch? We’ve got all the answers for you below!

Where to watch 2023 Eurovision

The 2023 Eurovision Song Contest can be streamed live on Peacock for all three rounds! Though if you aren’t able to tune in live or can’t finish it all in one sitting, then the episodes will also be available to stream on-demand following the live broadcast.

If you’re not subscribed to the service, you can do so for $4.99/month with ads or $9.99/month without ads. Though since the competition is a live broadcast from the UK, you should expect to see commercials no matter the tier you choose to pay for.

Why is the 2023 Eurovision in Liverpool, England? (Who won the 2022 Eurovision?)

Every year, the winning country from the previous contest gets to host the next Eurovision event. So in 2022, Ukraine came out the victor with the song “Stefania” by Kalush Orchestra. So why isn’t the country hosting the 2023 competition? Why is it taking place in Liverpool, England instead? That’s because of the security concerns caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. So they were unable to host. While the country wasn’t able to do so this year, you can cheer on Ukrainian duo TVORCHI who are taking part in the contest!

Who are the 2023 Eurovision hosts?

  • Ted Lasso actress Hannah Waddingham
  • English singer Alesha Dixon
  • Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina
  • Television host Graham Norton (joining the others in the Finale)

What is the prize for winning the 2023 Eurovision?

The contest actually does not have a monetary prize. The winner gets to take home a glass microphone trophy which has become iconic with the show. The reason there’s no cash prize is for two reasons. First, the competition provides a big platform for the winning champ, which will most likely lead to a career in the music business. The second reason is that it provides a platform for countries to promote themselves, and the host country and city is able to promote itself as a tourist destination.

The 2023 Eurovision Song Contest begins today, May 9, 2023, at 3 p.m. ET on Peacock. Two more episodes will be released this week, with the finale on Saturday!
