Is Kin Shriner leaving General Hospital? (Is a cast exit coming?)
By Sabrina Reed
Fans of General Hospital have been impacted by quite a bit of cast news in the month of May alone. First Lexi Ainsworth departed the ABC daytime program. She’d played the role of Kristina Davis from 2009-2011 and then from 2015-2023. Now the character will be portrayed by former Days of Our Lives actress Kate Mansi, who’s set to make her debut the week of May 22.
Then there was the unexpected passing of Jacklyn Zeman. The beloved actress was 70 years old and had gone through a brief battle with cancer. She’d originated the role of Barbara Jean “Bobbie” Spencer and was still on the soap prior to her death. TVLine reports her last episode aired April 27 of this year and that the episode centered on the wedding of Bobbie’s grandson, Michael. His bride was Willow. An outpouring of love for Zeman flooded the Internet as her colleagues and those who knew her spoke on their connection to her and the love they have for her.
On May 11, news broke that Haley Pullos would be taking a temporary leave of absence as the character Molly Lansing-Davis. Holiday Mia Kriegel will step into the role come the week of May 22. Now there’s word that Kin Shriner’s time as Scott Baldwin could be coming to an end.
Is Kin Shriner leaving General Hospital?
There has yet to be confirmation from ABC, but Shriner took to twitter to make the following post:
As such, it looks like fans will soon be saying goodbye to Scotty on the soap. Shriner thanked his fans for the decades of support they’ve shown him. He’s been a staple of Port Charles since 1977 and though Shriner didn’t originate the role, he’s the only actor with a tenure of this length.
