Fire Country Season 2 will not premiere on CBS in May 2023
We’re ready to see more from the Station 42 and Third Rock crews. There’s just some bad news. There’s a wait on our hands for Fire Country Season 2.
Don’t worry; there are no spoilers for the Fire Country Season 1 finale. We’re simply focusing on when the second season will arrive. Going into the finale we knew that Fire Country Season 2 was happening.
The bad news is we won’t get any episodes this month. That’s not surprising when you consider the broadcast networks don’t premiere big shows this time of year. It doesn’t make sense for the viewership, so the networks will now wait for the 2023–2024 season. Just when will that start?
When will Fire Country Season 2 premiere on CBS?
We don’t have a premiere date just yet. What we do know is that CBS loves the performance of the series so much that it’s remaining in the fall on Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Usually, that would mean the series would premiere in September, but that probably isn’t going to happen this year.
The writers are on strike. There are no episodes to film just yet, and the longer the writers remain on strike, the more production is going to be pushed back. Then there’s the possibility that the actors and post-production crews will go on strike in July, which will further push things back. Right now, the network studios are not agreeing on negotiations, which means this strike is indefinite.
ABC opted not to bring any scripted shows back in the fall. Believing this strike will go on for months, ABC is holding all scripted programming for 2024. We could see other networks start to do that. CBS does have an alternate plan but hasn’t announced it yet. This could mean Fire Country Season 2 will premiere in 2024 instead of fall 2023.
Fire Country is available to stream on Paramount+.
