Updated Aug. 23: Series creator Sam Levinson teased what’s ahead for Rue (Zendaya), and no, it’s not season 3…well, sort of! It looks like a film noir from Rue’s point of view is something Levinson is considering. TV Line reports, Levinson teases that this project will “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.”

Updated July 31:Euphoria fans are heartbroken over the news that Angus Cloud, who starred as Fezco, died in Oakland, California, on July 31, 2023, TMZ reports.

Well, we knew the wait for Euphoria season 3 would be a long one, but I don’t think any of us were anticipating this long of a wait. Here’s your monthly Euphoria report — the saddest one yet!

It feels as if the second season of the HBO hit series ended a long time ago, but it has only been a little over a year. Still, though we were never expecting Euphoria to drop its third season a year after the second, we were hoping for some sort of news or update. Did the season start filming? If it hasn’t, is it set to start soon?

Euphoria season 3 filming updates

Euphoria season 3 was reportedly set to start filming in February 2023, but it has been nothing but crickets and we are well into May 2023 now. There have been a few casting announcements. Some actors are not returning, for example. But other than that, no news on when we can expect the new season to arrive. Well, until now. But this update isn’t great, I’m afraid.

Euphoria season 3 release date predictions

In a recent report from Deadline, HBO Drama Chief Francesca Orsi shared that the third season will not premiere until the year 2025. Orsi tells the source: “we can’t start shooting, so the delivery of that show [Euphoria] – ideally in 2025 – will be determined on when we can pick back up with Sam, who at this point is all pencils down and just finishing posts on The Idol.” This is so disappointing to learn, if we’re being honest.

I know it’s frustrating for fans because there doesn’t seem to be a sense of urgency here. HBO knows we’ll be watching whether season 3 takes three years or 11 years to premiere. But will we? I wouldn’t doubt it if there are fans who will be well over the series by the time it arrives. How do you feel about the long wait ahead for the season?

As soon as we learn updates of any kind, we’ll update this post!
