NBA Finals Game 1: Where can you stream it?
It’s that time of year as the NBA season comes to a close with Game 1 of the NBA Finals. So when and where can fans catch this very unusual Finals showdown? Find out!
To say the 2023 NBA playoffs have been a surprise would be an understatement. The madness began when the Milwaukee Bucks, who had boasted the best regular season record of the 2022-23 season, were beaten in the first round by the Miami Heat, an eighth-seed who had to win a special “play-in” tournament to get to the playoffs.
Miami then beat New York while the Boston Celtics took down the Atlanta Hawks and then a tight seven-game series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Miami got a 3-0 series lead, but Boston fought back to tie it up, only to suffer a crushing lopsided Game 7 loss, sending the Heat to their first Finals since 2020.
Over in the Western Conference, despite being a #1 seed, the Denver Nuggets were seen as underdogs against the defending champion Golden State Warriors, the Phoenix Suns, and the L.A. Lakers. But the Nuggets defeated Minnesota and Phoenix and then swept the Lakers in the Conference Finals, earning their first trip to the NBA Finals in the franchise’s 47-year history.
So it’s a Finals series no preseason pundits could have guessed, making this a very fascinating Finals to watch.
Where can you watch Game 1 of the NBA Finals?
As usual, ABC has the rights to air the Finals live, starting Thursday, June 1, at 8:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. CT. The games are also going to stream for viewers of ESPN+ and WatchESPN+.
The Nuggets have a home-court advantage for the series and are going in the heavy favorites. But Miami has been beating the odds already during the playoffs, so it might be able to pull off another big upset to claim the franchise’s fourth championship.
Either way, this should be a good conclusion to an exciting NBA season for fans of the game to enjoy.
