Fast X Part 2 release date and everything to know

We finally have a date for the next Fast & Furious film. Vin Diesel himself confirmed Fast X Part 2 is supposed to arrive in 2025 but when does it hit and who’s going to be in it?

There’s been a tendency for franchises to break movies into two parts and it appears the big finale of the Fast & Furious franchise was no different. Fast X had the crew framed for a terrorist attack by Dante (Jason Momoa), with half the crew running around Europe and seeking help from Shaw (Jason Statham).

Jakob (John Cena) sacrificed himself to save Dom (Vin Diesel) and his son. They ended up at a dam as a plane carrying the rest of the team arrived, only to be shot down by Fed Aimes (Alan Ritchson), who was working for Dante all along. He then set off an explosion on the dam with Dom and his son in danger.

Meanwhile, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and Cipher (Charlize Theron) escaped their Antarctic prison and were met by a sub captained by none other than Gisele (Gal Gadot), who supposedly died in Fast 6. The post-credits scene had Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) returning to be targeted by Dante.

So with such a huge cliffhanger, expectations are high for the final film and now we know when it’s coming.

When is Fast X Part 2 coming?

In an Instagram post, Diesel showed a photo of himself with Moama and confirmed the release date for the next chapter with “April 4th 2025… is less than 22 months away.” He also showed concept art for what appeared to be Letty and Cipher making their way across the Arctic.

The long release date may be surprising as it was assumed Fast Part 2 was being filmed at the same time as Fast X. It’s likely still needing additional filming, not to mention a lot of post-production work to get to the final product.

More importantly is that there will be a spin-off film in 2024 (tentatively titled Fast X.5) where Hobbs and Shaw team up against Dante and forge a bridge between the two main Fast films. Thus, the sequel to Fast X is the grand wrap-up to it all.

Fast X Part 2 cast

It can be assumed the entire regular cast is returning for the new installment. That includes Gadot, as seeing the reunion of Gisele and Han should be interesting. There’s also going to be more of Brie Larson as Tess and the possibility of some surprise cameos as well. So the following actors will likely return:

With a tentative release date set, the finish line for the Fast franchise is approaching and makes 2025 a year to watch.
