After a decade, Futurama is finally returning with Hulu bringing in a new season of the beloved animated sci-fi comedy. So how many episodes make up season 11, and when do they air?

Premiering in 1999 on Fox, Futurama was the brainchild of Matt Goering, the genius behind The Simpsons. It told the tale of Phillip J. Fry, a slacker who’s accidentally frozen and revived a thousand years in the future. Fry is soon part of a strange crew that includes a one-eyed alien he falls in love with, a boozing robot, a lazy lobster creature, a mad scientist who is Fry’s descendant, and more.

The show might not have been the most popular title on TV but it got good reviews and did well enough ratings-wise to survive cancellation until 2003. A series of direct-to-DVD movies did well, so in 2010, Comedy Central revived it for another few seasons, ending in 2013.

Now, Hulu is bringing the show back once again with Goering and the voice cast reprising their roles. They’ve also announced what the first 10 episodes are about.

Futurama season 11 episode count

Originally, season 11 was announced as having 20 episodes, but Hulu has only revealed 10 of them. It’s possible others are being delayed due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike and/or Hulu saving them for later.

The new season will premiere on Monday, July 24, with new episodes dropping each Monday afterward. Here are the episodes we know for sure will premiere.

  • July 24: Episode 1: “The Impossible Stream”, written by Patric M. Verrone
  • July 31: Episode 2: “Children Of A Lesser Bog,” written by Eric Horsted
  • August 6: Episode 3: “How The West Was 1010001”, written by Nona di Spargement
  • August 13: Episode 4: “Parasites Regained”, written by Maiya Williams
  • August 20: Episode 5: “Related To Items You’ve Viewed,” written by David A. Goodman
  • August 27: Episode 6: “I Know What You Did Last Xmas,” written by Ariel Ladensohn
  • September 3: Episode 7: “Rage Against The Vaccine,” written by Cody Ziglar
  • September 10: Episode 8: “Zapp Gets Cancelled”, written by Shirin Najafi
  • September 17: Episode 9: “The Prince And The Product”, written by Ari John Kaplan & Eric Kaplan
  • September 24: Episode 10: “All The Way Down,” written by David X. Cohen

The episodes look to retain the show’s nutty humor, sci-fi action, and occasional drama while ensuring Futurama‘s return is everything fans have spent years waiting for.
