Alice Oseman’s webcomic Heartstopper took off online, leading to a run of graphic novels and a popular Netflix show, which was renewed for two more seasons only a month after airing. Now, just over a year later, it is finally time for season 2!

Season one followed Charlie and his friends as they tried to find love and acceptance at school and at home. Between Charlie’s secret romance with lacrosse stud Nick and the expanding world of his friend Elle, his friend group starts to break apart. While the season ended on a happy note and a heartwarming coming-out scene, there are still plenty of tensions and complications to explore in the future.

The second season is based on the third volume of Oseman’s graphic novels, which follows the friend group on a school trip to Paris and looks at the problems that can still arise even after season one’s happy ending. Fans are eager to see how their favorite characters (and new faces) handle the highs and lows to come.
