Welp, Hope has egg on her face and presumably Brooke is going to be feeling that embarrassment, too, once she finds out they both read Liam wrong. He was serious when he told Steffy on Wednesday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful that wanting better than Thomas for Hope didn’t mean he forgave her or wanted to fight for his marriage.

He made that clear to Hope on Thursday when she continued to feel out whether they could try again. Liam had been taken off guard by her question, though he did acknowledge it was nice to hear her take accountability and see where she had erred. It’s made him think she is on track to reclaiming her old self, but he did acknowledge that whether she’d been unconsciously reaching for a reason to justify her behavior by bringing up his history with Steffy, she’d still made some point.

Liam is a man who has had a divided heart. Unlike Thomas, he cannot offer Hope a life where she can feel secure in being the only woman he loves. Liam owned up that and then asked Hope to reflect on whether she’s felt like Steffy was in the middle of their marriage even in the good years when Liam wasn’t torn between them.

Hope took that under consideration, but she wanted to know where Liam stands with Steffy. Expertly, he dodged that question stating that Hope knows that his feelings on this entire situation are complicated and then steered them back to talking about their relationship…or rather its end. Liam told her that he loves her but that he can’t forgive her. He’s not in a place to try to make them work for the sake of Beth, so he’s not going to do that.

He kissed Hope on the forehead and then abruptly left, leaving her once again to deal with the consequences of her actions. In this case, an apology wasn’t enough and it looks like Liam isn’t willing to move past Hope’s kiss with Thomas which is likely for the best considering if he feels this way about a make out session he witnessed, learning she’s slept with Thomas would send him over the edge.

Meanwhile, at Forrester Mansion, Steffy was having her own heart-to-heart with Finn. Once again he pleaded his case, trying to get her to see that they shouldn’t be apart anymore. He even said he’d move into Eric’s with her so they won’t be spending yet another night without each other as a family, he misses her and the kids.

Steffy’s still concerned about Sheila and Finn’s connection because their embrace really shook her faith, but Finn reminded her of the time they nearly lost each other and how he did what it took to get back to her. Monaco was where they reunited and he has no plans on letting her go again. He promised her that he won’t let Sheila hurt her or the kids again, and he asked if they could be together once more. We, like Finn, await her answer.

As for Ridge and Eric, they’re still butting heads. For some reason, Ridge really isn’t interested in collaborating with his father on the fashion line that he’s been inspired to create. Eric feels shafted and disrespected. The two got off on the wrong foot today when Ridge walked into the office asking what his dad was doing, and Eric responded that he’s working at his desk. Emphasis on his.

It’s Ridge’s belief that, yes, his father inspired him and many other designers. He’s contributed so much to the fashion world and now he can rest and spend time with his grandkids and inspire them. Eric hired capable people to take over for him and do the work of continuing on the legacy that he established at Forrester Creations, so he doesn’t understand why his dad suddenly wants more of a role at the fashion firm.

Eric feels like he’s being putting out to pasture. While in search of his stapler, he was upset to learn that it had been thrown out two decades ago when it wasn’t working properly anymore. Never mind the fact that means he was CEO when it was thrown out, which would make his point moot, Eric railed against throwing away a perfectly good stapler just because it was a little worse for wear.

If this keeps up, Eric could wind up challenging his son and we get a fashion stand-off which would be cool. It’s been awhile since we had a clash with silks and satin. Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!

Next. Is Eric leaving The Bold and the Beautiful?. dark
