Get ready for a fun way to watch NFL games this year. A special simulcast allows kids to enjoy the game alongside characters from the beloved Toy Story movies. What’s it about, and what game is it used for? Find out here!

The NFL has been trying to spark up views of games for kids, including last year when they did one with Nickelodeon. Now, they’re turning to Disney with a unique special broadcast. Here are some details!

What is Toy Story Funday Football?

Deadline shares that this special broadcast takes place in “Andy’s Room” as the Toy Story characters watch the action and recreate some big plays. Using the NFL’s Next Gen Stats and on-field tracking data, every player and play will be virtually simultaneous with the main game telecast, with most plays recreated after an expected delay in the neighborhood of about 30 seconds. Woody, Buzz Lightyear and many other characters will be visible throughout, and a press release notes they will be “participating from the sidelines and in other non-gameplay elements.” Along with game action, the announcers, graphics, scoreboard, referees’ penalty announcements, celebrations and other parts of the experience will all be rendered in a Toy Story-centric fashion.

To top it off, at halftime, Duke Caboom, the daredevil motorcyclist voiced by Keanu Reeves, will do a big stunt jump.

When does Toy Story Funday Football premiere?

This broadcast will be on Sunday, Oct. 1, starting at 9:30/8:30c am. The early time is because this game takes place at London’s Wembley Stadium, hence the time difference, which also makes it better for kids to watch the game.

Which teams are playing in Toy Story Funday Football?

The teams playing will be the Atlanta Falcons and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Obviously, it’s impossible to know what the records for the teams will be by October 1, although both were victorious in Week 1. However, with each team hoping to make a run for the playoffs, this should still be a good matchup.

Where to stream Toy Story Funday Football

The game is set to air on NFL Network and NFL+, but this special version will be available to stream on Disney+ and ESPN+. Also, a replay will be available for a limited time on Disney+.
