Updated: Sept. 19, 2023 – Quantum Leap season 2 is around the corner! The last we left off with Ben, he’d completed his mission, he saved Addison. However, whether or not he made it back home was still up in the air. It’s not anymore.

Spoilers ahead for Quantum Leap season 2

Cast additions and information shared about the series premiere revealed that Ben didn’t make it back to the present and in his own body. Instead, he’s thrust through time once again with no connection to his team. An exciting season is in store for fans of the show. Here’s everything we know about it so far.

Quantum Leap season 2 release date

The season 2 premiere, “This Took Too Long!,” will air Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. ET. It’ll kick off the Wednesday block which consists of new episodes of Magnum P.I. season 5 and reruns of the One Chicago series. Next day streaming will be available on Peacock.

Will Martinez be in Quantum Leap season 2?

Showrunner Martin Gero confirmed that Martinez is “very dead” and we won’t see an alternate version of him show up. That doesn’t mean there won’t be any other leapers sent back to try to fix what Martinez failed to do.

Who does Melissa Roxburgh play in Quantum Leap season 2?

Manifest‘s Melissa Roxburgh plays Lt. Ellen Grier. She’s introduced in the season 2 premiere, “This Took Too Long!”, as a member of a crew of Airmen who must transport a mysterious crate to New Delhi. According to TVLine, Ben must band together with them as he’s jumped into the body of a man named Perez while in the middle of a flight.

The year is 1978 and the plane is flying over Russia. Whatever is in the crate is of high importance because the plane gets shot down by missiles. It’s Roxburgh’s character that gets the crate off the plane but at the risk of her and Ben’s life.

Who does Eliza Taylor play on Quantum Leap season 2?

The 100 alum is set to make her debut in the series as a regular in the third episode of the season entitled, “Close Encounters.” The name of Eliza Taylor’s character name is Hannah Carson. Not much is known about the role she’ll play in season 2, but Hannah is described as “a complex young woman who may be more than she appears.”

Who does Peter Gadiot play in Quantum Leap season 2?

Peter Gadiot (One Piece) is joining the cast as a series regular as well. He’ll be playing U.S. Army Officer Tom Westfall. The character is former special forces and has been tasked with overseeing the Quantum Leap project.

Gadiot’s cast announcement was made at the same time as Eliza Taylor’s. Tom Westfall is described as being a thoughtful and centered man whose humility keeps him from coming off as arrogant. Both men and women admire him for being a “spiritual kind of warrior.”

How many episodes are in Quantum Leap season 2?

There will be a total of 13 episodes. However, they weren’t all completed before the writers and actors strike halted production in Hollywood. TVLine reports “most” of the season was finished before the pause. Given episode 8 has a title, “Nomad,” and a promotional still this may be where the season leaves off. Check it out below:

Quantum Leap season 2 release schedule

Note: This is not a confirmed schedule. The series will likely go on a break ahead of Thanksgiving. However, it’s unclear if it’ll resume airing or if NBC will hold the remaining episodes until 2024.
