We’re all getting our watch lists together and, though the pickings are smaller this year because of the ongoing Hollywood strikes, that doesn’t mean there isn’t new content to choose from. If you’re partial to ABC shows, we’re sorry to tell you that the network doesn’t have any scripted programming to sink your teeth into but unscripted series have come to the rescue.
You’ll be able to tune into Celebrity editions of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune along with the always fun $100,000 Pyramid and the sometimes aggravating Press Your Luck (that whammy is a doozy!). But outside of game shows, Shark Tank, and 20/20, what does the network have on offer to watch and what’s worth a skip? Here are my picks from the ABC shows premiering in the fall!
The best ABC shows to watch in fall 2023
Dancing with the Stars
WATCH! Dancing with the Stars season 32 premieres Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. ET and we cannot wait! As you can see from the key art above, we have a new hosting pair this season as Tyra Banks has exited the celebrity dance competition series. Alfonso Ribeiro is now hosting with Julianna Hough.
This season stars like Academy Award winning actress Mira Sorvino, famed singer-songwriter Jason Mraz, and Marvel’s Xochitl Gomez will be cutting a rug…or should we say burning up the dance floor? Also, we’ll be seeing a new Pro dancer make her mark! Rylee Arnold, who starred on the franchise’s junior version with her sister Lindsay Arnold as her coach, is a part of the cast. Who will you be rooting for? Click here for the full cast list.
The Golden Bachelor
WATCH! Look despite the fact that we’re sure the general audience is starting to get burnt out by the machine that is Bachelor Nation, The Golden Bachelor is primed to be the refresher we need. First off, it’s only an hour long each week so you don’t have to make a commitment to signing over all of your Thursday night to watch the program starting Thursday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. ET.
Second, the ladies in the inaugural season are all vibrant and fun. Gerry Turner, our Golden Bachelor, better be ready because there’s not a single woman vying for his heart in this cast who isn’t a catch! Who knows, this may be the best iteration of The Bachelor franchise yet!
Bachelor in Paradise
SKIP! I know, I know. But I was just talking about Bachelor burnout and if you’re feeling it then you’re going to want to bypass Bachelor in Paradise. ABC has scheduled a THREE HOUR block of Bachelor content and that is a lot to commit to on Thursdays. But if you want to indulge in two hours of drama, have at it!
This is a dating series where singles “try to find love” in a beautiful locale amongst some of the franchise’s over the top participants. This season includes Brayden, he of the dangling earrings from Charity’s season of The Bachelorette, is in it. He caused quite the stir when he made his Bachelor Nation debut and since he plans on sticking around in the franchise, we’re sure there’s bound to be dust-ups between him and his former cast members who are in this season as well.
Bachelor in Paradise begins airing Thursday, Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. ET.
