Meg 2: The Trench premiered in theaters earlier this summer on Aug. 4, 2023. This isn’t terribly long ago, so the movie’s streaming release date comes as a surprise — but a good one! We’ll never complain about being able to rewatch our favorite movies earlier than we expected.

These days, most movies are available to stream in as little as a few weeks after opening in theaters. And if not weeks, in two to three months. Typically, there’s a window between a movie’s debut and the streaming release of 100 days or less. This is super convenient for those who would rather wait to see a movie from home instead of going to the big screen. And who can blame them? For starters, it’s a big money saver.

Even if you did go to your local theater to watch the latest big screen debut, re-watching a movie you enjoyed from the comfort of your own home is always fun. That said, when will fans be able to watch Jason Statham take on another underwater creature?

When is the Meg 2 streaming release date?

Whether you missed this summer hit when it opened in theaters or simply want to watch it before closing out the summer season, Meg 2 is coming sooner than we thought it would.

According to Variety, even though the movie wasn’t listed in Max’s September releases, it has now been confirmed that Meg 2 will become available to stream on the Max streaming service on Sept. 29. To watch, you’ll need to have a Max account. This is a fantastic time to join Max, if you’re not already there. Not only will you be able to enjoy Meg 2, but with the spooky season ahead, you’ll have access to many horror favorites, including The Conjuring and Insidious.

Meg 2: The Trench stars Jason Statham, Jing Wu, Li Bingbing, Able Wanamakok, Page Kennedy, and Shuya Sophia Cai. The movie is PG-13 for brief suggestive material, action, violence, language, and bloody images.
