Celebrity Jeopardy is back for prime time this week! Who is competing in the inaugural episode on Wednesday, September 27? Find out here!
While the WGA strike has now been settled, ABC still has a lot to fill out with their schedules. Thus, Celebrity Jeopardy is coming back with Ken Jennings as its host. The following weeks will once more pit various celebrities against each other, competing for money for their favorite charities and having some fun too.
So, who are the first competitors for this new version? Here’s the lowdown on them!
Who is Mark Duplass on Celebrity Jeopardy?
Rising up as a writer/director with his brother Jay, Mark Duplass broke out in roles in Parkland and Pete in the FX comedy The League. He’s also had roles in The Mindy Project, Togetherness, and Goliath. Currently, Duplass plays news manager Chip Black on the Apple TV+ drama The Morning Show and should bring his nice-guy charm to the podium.
Who is Emily Hampshire on Celebrity Jeopardy?
Born in Montreal, Emily Hampshire did have roles in various Canadian TV series and movies. She had her big break playing the psychotic Jennifer Goines in the cult hit 12 Monkeys TV series. She then starred as quirky hotel manager Stevie Budd on the Emmy-winning smash Schitt’s Creek. Hampshire continues to be a popular TV face with The Rig and other roles, and her fun humor should make her a great presence on the Jeopardy podium.
Who is Utkarsh Ambudkar on Celebrity Jeopardy?
Born in Baltimore, Utkarsh Ambudkar got his break as a rapper and movies such as Pitch Perfect, Ride Along 2 and Free Guy. Like Duplass, he had a recurring role in The Mindy Project and Brockmire with a recurring role on Never Have I Ever. Currently, he stars opposite Rose McIver in the CBS hit Ghosts. That should make for a fun aura as he shows his smarts on the podium.
So, with this first slate of contestants, it looks like Celebrity Jeopardy is once more going to push itself, showing how stars can enjoy the game as much as regular folks.
Celebrity Jeopardy airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
