The Amazing Race is making its return for its 35th season. Be ready for an intense ride with breathtaking views as a stunning 13 teams globe trot in the hopes of beating out the competition. $1 million dollars is at stake and on each leg of the trip a team will be eliminated.

What makes this season of the series so special, besides the fact that the show has reached a milestone, is that it’s returning to commercial travel. Due to the pandemic, the CBS original had to make accommodations and changes to its normal structure in order to keep contestants as safe as possible while traveling and providing a similar rigor and challenge that the series is known for.

Now the format of The Amazing Race will once again be what fans were used to pre-pandemic. There will be no more non-elimination legs and the Express Pass has returned. There’s also been a twist added to the game upending U-Turn. Additionally, the program will now run for 90 minutes each week, giving us deeper insight into the cities and cultures featured in the season as well as a closer look at the contestants and their strong connections with their teammate.

Looking forward to tuning into the race? Here’s what you need to know about when the show airs and its schedule.

What night is The Amazing Race on CBS?

The Amazing Race 35 airs Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on CBS starting Sept. 27. The program will follow the latest season of Survivor which airs in the 8 p.m. slot on the network.

Longtime fans of The Amazing Race should be prepared to tune in for 90 minutes each week as the competition show’s runtime has been bumped up to compensate for the affect the writers strike had on CBS’ Fall 2023 schedule. The writers strike is over, but the actors strike is ongoing. This, however, won’t impact this show’s schedule.
