The Quantum Leap Season 2 premiere picked up straight off with finding where Ben had leaped to. How long has it been for everyone else?

Caution: This post contains spoilers for the Quantum Leap Season 2 premiere.

The Quantum Leap Season 2 premiere picked straight up from the Season 1 finale. Ben made a leap. Rather than heading back to his own body after completing his mission, he ended up in another time period.

This time, he went to 1978 Russia. He was part of a secret mission that went wrong, and he had to help save some lives by preventing a missile shooting down a plane. He did it all without Addison’s help, which kept bringing up the question about where Addison and the team were.

That was explained at the very end. Ian showed up with shocking news.

How long Ben has been missing in Quantum Leap

It turns out that Ben has been missing for three years. That’s all the information that we have right now.

We can assume that Ian and the team looked for Ben as much as they could. However, they knew that there were risks with leaping. Sam Beckett is still missing somewhere in the past and now presumed dead. Is that what has happened with the team?

Obviously, Ian was still looking for Ben. Why did Ian come back to tell Ben about the time period rather than Addison? Wouldn’t Addison want to see Ben again after so long? Wouldn’t she want to know that he is still alive?

It’s clear that at lot must have happened in the present day. We’ll need to wait until the next episode to find out the full story.
