Our time with Yellowstone season 1 is barreling to an end on CBS. Last week, the network didn’t air a double feature because of an NFL double header and a 90 minute episode of 60 Minutes. The program was pushed out of its usual 8 p.m. ET timeslot and bumped to 9 p.m. to accommodate this scheduling. As such, the big question for Sunday, Oct. 15’s block is whether or not we can anticipate the series moving back to its usual timeslot.
Rest assured, you will be able to view Yellowstone at 8 p.m. tonight! Episode 7, “A Monster Among Us,” kicks off the two hour block. We’ll be dropped back into the plot after Monica’s collapse and Beth and John’s incredibly hurtful fight. We’re happy to share that, according to the synopsis, Monica does make a recovery in the episode but this is just the start of what’s described as a tough process for her.
Meanwhile, John’s got yet another threat to deal with when it comes to his way of life. Most likely, this has to do with Chief Thomas Rainwater’s deal with Dan Jenkins. Per TVLine‘s recap, in exchange for Dan letting Thomas build his casino on his land, the chief will finance the necessary roads, sewage, power, and more that the developer needs. Dan was cautioned by Melody Prescott, but he jumped head first into the deal because the enemy of my enemy is my friend. With this plan in motion, John’s got an alliance coming for him that he definitely can’t let stand.
“A Monster Among Us” will also see Rip catch wind of a “dangerous and dire situation,” sounds like a day ending in y for these characters but it must be serious because episode 7 rolls into Yellowstone season 1’s two part finale, the first episode of which airs tonight.
When does the Yellowstone season 1 finale air on CBS?
“The Unraveling Pt. 1” airs Sunday, Oct. 15 at 9 p.m. on CBS. Based on the synopsis, whatever Rip walks up on in episode 7 leads to him being in the hot seat thanks to an investigation by the sheriff. The only other character mentioned is Jamie, who is in the midst of his political campaign for attorney general on Yellowstone. Apparently he makes a decision concerning his future that’s going to have consequences. But will they blowback on his family or is this something of a personal choice regarding Christina, his campaign manager? We’ll have to watch and see.
As for part 2 of “The Unraveling,” we’ll be waiting until Sunday, Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. to view the last episode of season 1. Yes, this does mean that CBS isn’t airing the season 2 premiere next week. It also hasn’t been announced if the network will be adding the second season to its schedule at all. Hidden Remote will keep you posted.
In the meantime, check out the synopsis for the season 1 finale:
"“With the walls closing in, John discovers which family and allies will stand with him and fight.”"
Looks like John’s going to have his hands full. It’ll be interesting to see who he hasn’t alienated enough to leave him to the sharks.
