The Kelly Clarkson Show is on the move from LA to NYC, but make no mistake, the show does not miss a beat and is back stronger than ever!

After four seasons in LA, The Kelly Clarkson Show has relocated to NBC Studios in New York for its fifth season kicking off on Monday, Oct. 16. With its move to New York, The Kelly Clarkson Show becomes the latest in a string of amazing NBC productions to film at the iconic 30 Rock and the show’s new home is truly stunning.

Making the move to 30 Rock, The Kelly Clarkson Show has settled into its new state-of-the-art studio in the refreshed Studio 6A complete with a new platform for Clarkson’s house band, Y’All (led by the amazing Jason Halbert), and a 200-seat studio to welcome in fans for the live-in-studio experience.

While the show’s backdrop might look slightly different and the show has made the move to a new city, make no mistake because the essence of the show has not changed. Host Kelly Clarkson continues to prove why she’s the reigning queen of daytime leading the show with effortless charm and infusing the show with music, humor, and heart.

I say this not only as a fan of the show and Clarkson from Day 1 but as someone who has gotten the experience to witness the magic of the show in person as part of the studio audience.

Attending The Kelly Clarkson Show is the experience of a lifetime

As an entertainment writer, I’ve been blessed with opportunities the young aspiring writer in me never could have imagined becoming a reality. There have been many moments in my career where I’ve had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. This October, I experienced perhaps my biggest “pinch me” moment ever when I had the chance to attend a season 5 premiere week taping of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

For those who don’t know me, Kelly Clarkson’s music has been the soundtrack of my life. So when the opportunity to attend a taping during premiere week came about, I quickly jumped at it.

As someone who has watched the show each season, there was a natural curiosity to see how the move to NYC might affect the show. When many shows move to new cities and/or studios, it’s as though they use the move as a reset of sorts with changes made not just to the location but to the show itself. I can assure you, The Kelly Clarkson Show was not one of those shows.

While the show has moved into a beautiful new set in 30 Rock, the series remains true it’s roots.

There are amazing musical performances with the premiere week alone featuring Kellyoke covers of “I Won’t Give Up”, “Stronger”, “New Attitude”, “Crimson and Clover” and “1985”. We get to see a wave of amazing celebrity guests join Clarkson for intimate conversations as well as interviews with incredible everyday people doing amazing things in their community. The show still leans upon it’s iconic segments which fans love such as fun celebrity guest bits, lifestyle segments, and What I’m Liking. Most importantly, Clarkson is just as magnetic as ever and continues to bring so much heart and love to the show.

Clarkson is her true authentic self no matter whether the cameras are rolling or not. Between commercials, Clarkson fills the room with energy as she engages with the studio audience, shares laughs with her guests, and gives endless love to the crew who help make the show possible with their tireless work behind the scenes.

Until you’ve attended a taping of a show such as this, you can’t truly fathom the number of moving parts that go into making a show we love such as The Kelly Clarkson Show. It’s amazing to see how many individuals play a role into making this show the truly one of a kind gem that it is. Getting to experience this first hand is a truly magical moment.
