We’ve been so thankful for the return of our favorite late-night talk shows, including Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC! After a hiatus due to the writers strike, the hosts as well as us fans are more than happy to be tuning in once again. This evening, you’ll just need to tune in a little bit later than usual.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs tonight, Oct. 19, 2023, at around 11:57 p.m. ET on ABC. Usually, episodes always begin at 11:35 p.m. ET. However today there’s going to be a 22-minute delay because U.S. President Joe Biden is set to address the nation about the current Israel-Hamas conflict in the Middle East. The president went to Israel to speak with its prime minister, and has just returned.
So overall, the address doesn’t affect our favorite talk show this evening too much. A 22-minute delay isn’t a big deal. And other programs on ABC have had to move their premiere times slightly too. Those are The Golden Bachelor now at 8:22 p.m. ET, Bachelor in Paradise at 9:24 p.m. ET, and Nightline at 12:59 a.m. ET.
So who makes up the guest line-up this evening on the late-night talk show? Which stars can you expect to see? Read on below to find out!
Guests: Who’s on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight?
Tonight, Snoop Dogg, Ms. Pat, and musical guest October London will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The rapper is most likely coming on to talk about his new album, “Missionary.” Snoop Dogg first gained recognition in 1992 when he was featured on Dr. Dre’s song “Deep Cover,” as well as the artist’s album “The Chronic.”
Ms. Pat is a stand-up comedian and actress, best known for her own sitcom, The Ms. Pat Show that is available to watch on BET+. The series was renewed for a fourth season in May 2023. The talent also hosts a podcast, The Patdown with Ms. Pat.
October London is an “old-soul singer and songwriter,” per iHeartRadio. We were first introduced to the musician when he lent his voice to Snoop Dogg’s song “Revolution” in 2016. He then released his own, “Black Man in America.” His most recent single released in 2023, “Back to Your Place,” has been No. 1 on Billboard.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! returned on Oct. 2, 2023, exactly five months after the show was dark due to the writers strike. The Writers Guild of America (WGA) went on strike May 2, 2023. Then after the group had first reached a tentative agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), writers were able to get back to work. The new contract between the two parties went into effect Sept. 25, 2023 and lasts through May 1, 2026.
Like his fellow late-night talk show hosts, Kimmel stood in solidarity with the writers and didn’t come back until a deal was made between the WGA and AMPTP. In fact, Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and John Oliver started The Strike Force Five podcast while they were all off the air. Money made from the podcast went to the writers who were not working or being paid during the strike.
While the writers strike has been resolved, as of Oct. 19, 2023, the actors strike is still ongoing. That means it’s still going to be a while until we see actors come on the talk shows to talk about their upcoming roles. You still might see some stars in the guest line-up if they’re talking about a project from a producing stand point, or coming on to talk about other ventures. But not about their acting jobs. The Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and AMPTP were previously in negotiations, but that has stopped as of Oct. 12 because “industry CEOs have walked away from the bargaining table,” per SAG-AFTRA on X.
