The Golden Bachelor is a hit! Though this shouldn’t be surprising. After all, The Bachelor franchise has been a staple on ABC for over two decades. But still, the way we’re invested in Gerry Turner’s quest for love has us glued to the TV every Thursday, waiting to see which fabulous ladies he grows closer to and which will be sent home after the rose ceremony.
Tonight, things are going to go a little differently. At least in terms of what time the show is set to air. Typically, we can count on the dating series starting promptly at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, but that won’t be the case on Oct. 19. This is because of President Biden’s address from the Oval Office which will begin at 8 p.m. The president will be discussing the Israel-Hamas war, which will include notes on his recent trip to Israel to affirm the U.S.’s commitment to Israel as an ally and the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. President Biden will also be speaking about the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.
TVLine reports ABC’s regularly scheduled programming should get underway after the president’s address, beginning with The Golden Bachelor at 8:22 p.m. We’ll note that this is likely an estimate. The address could go on for longer, as such programming will be delayed accordingly. If you’re watching the address on ABC, the network may start notating on screen that the dating series has been pushed to a later time but it will air.
What does tonight’s episode entail? Here’s what we know!
The Golden Bachelor episode 4 has pickleball and two Bachelor franchise guests!
The fourth episode of The Golden Bachelor will see Gerry putting the ladies vying for his heart to the test on the pickleball court. ExpectEllen Goltzer‘s competitive nature to take center stage as the sport is one of her favorite recreational activities. She should have this in the bag as long as something doesn’t go awry.
Joining Gerry to judge the competition are former Bachelorette Trista Sutter and the franchise’s new leading man, Joey Graziadei, who will be the Bachelor on season 28. Sutter was the runner-up on the first season of The Bachelor and became the first Bachelorette. She chose Ryan Sutter and the two have been married since Dec. 6, 2003. They have two children together.
Graziadei was on the 20th season of The Bachelorette. He was the runner-up, Charity Lawson chose Dotun Olubeko. Both Sutter and Graziadei are tennis players which is likely why they were chosen to cameo on this episode.
It won’t be all fun and games. Judging by the sneak peek for episode 4, April Kirkwood takes a spill on the pickelball court that’s bad news for her ankle. But Gerry does come to her rescue so the drama of it all could get her some one-on-one time with him once someone hands her an ice pack and elevates her leg.
Speaking of drama, Kathy Swarts and Theresa Nist’s dust-up over the latter’s continued talk about her amazing connection with Gerry will resume in episode 4. The two appear to be getting into it at some point on the court and, though it may be the magic of editing, Kathy says clearly, “He’s going to send you home.”
Aside from sports, Gerry is going to treat one of the ladies to an off-road trip on the back of an ATV before they take a dip in what looks to be a wood hot tub in the middle of a field. The view? Stunning. We can’t wait to see what happens tonight on The Golden Bachelor. Episode 4 is expected to air at 8:22 p.m. ET on ABC.
