NCIS Season 24 is less than two months away, and we’re looking forward to getting answers to what happened between Agent Nick Torres and Agent Tim McGee’s son, Mateo, when the former discovered the young man was up to something. This is just one of the many storylines we’re looking forward to seeing. But what is the one storyline NCIS needs to resolve in Season 24?
Fans know that romance on the show rarely works out and it is rare for a relationship to continue in the long term. For example, McGee is the one character on the show who has had a long-term relationship for more than 10 years with his wife, Delilah, whereas as an example, Nick Torres lost his chance to be with Emily Wickersham’s Ellie Bishop after she left the show.
One of the most recent relationships on the show was between Brian Dietzen’s Jimmy Palmer and Katrina Law’s Agent Jessica Knight. Even though they did like each other, it was clear they were both in different places when it came to romance. This was Jimmy’s first relationship since the death of his wife, Breena, and Jessica was facing new opportunities when it came to her career.
While they both had different feelings when it came to breaking up in Season 22, it was for the best at the time. They needed to be ready in their own lives before they could make another attempt. But is it too late at this point?
Jimmy and Jessica's relationship status on NCIS needs to be resolved in Season 24
Even though they aren’t together and have still had a good working relationship, there have been hints that there is still something there in terms of feelings, especially on Palmer’s end. In season 23, Episode 8, Jimmy revealed their breakup wasn't out of a lack of love for one another but the fear of starting over. However, nothing has been said about whether their romance will come to fruition once more. In fact, there have been hints that something might happen between Knight and Torres.
However, their relationship has always felt playful, and their banter gives audiences a sibling feel rather than romance. A lot of fans still would love to see Knight and Palmer reunite, and it would be great to see how they work through a second chance at romance when they are both in the right space for it.
So when season 24 comes back around, a definitive answer on the romance front for Jimmy Palmer and Jessica Knight would allow for this particular storyline to end the “will they, won’t they” aspect. With one character revealing that there could be a chance of reconciliation, it gives fans hope that there will be movement on that front. Plus, it would allow the show to portray a relationship that won’t completely end in disaster, which has been the case at various points in the series.
