Tour the opulent, apple-filled and temptation-themed Big Brother 19 house
Big Brother season 19 is almost here and host Julie Chen is showing off the house’s theme decor. Spoilers: It features apples and snakes.
The good folks behind Big Brother have revealed the cast and now we get our first look at where all the action will go down in season 19. The home looks as outrageous and luxurious as always — covered top to bottom, living room to toilet in cameras and mics, of course — and June 28 can’t arrive soon enough.
The setting of this summer’s shenanigans will be “Temptation” themed as host Julie Chen revealed on a Hollywood Reporter tour of the Big Brother house. The decor is also heavily inspired by the five guiding words of the competition: Power, Alliance, Lust, Money and Revenge.
Money is the overriding motif in the living room in which the 16 houseguests will vote each other out of the house and the bedrooms roll with Power (Gordon Gekko inspired) and Lust (very Valentine’s Day) themes. There are also apples literally everywhere, a full wall of sour green apples in the lounge. And snakes. Because obviously apples plus snakes is vintage temptation style.
The Head of Household (HOH) bedroom is all gold everything. As Chen puts it, it’s like a Las Vegas high roller suite, complete with gold bricks.

Executive producers Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan also spoke to THR, with Meehan adding:
"It’s a summer of temptation! Not only does the house represent that, but the rooms carry through with some of those themes and we’re bringing that all the way through with the twists of the game this summer as well. With temptation there are lots of different paths the season could go on depending on which temptations the houseguests take. We’ve never done anything quite like that throughout the course of the season. So we have plans and backup plans for all different things."
They also promised some twists and potentially the return of the no napping rule. All in all, the house lacks a certain subtlety, but it still looks like the perfect place for BB19 to go down.
