This #FBF from Mandy Moore’s Instagram reveals the This Is Us star’s first headshot.

You probably have a pretty good idea of what Mandy Moore looks like. In fact, most casting directors probably do too. But back in the early days of her career, Mandy hustled with headshots like the rest and best of them. Lucky for us, the This Is Us matriarch has humor enough to share such old photos with her fans.

Last Friday, Mandy posted a #FBF — that’s Flash Back Friday, if you don’t know — on Instagram that showed off her young look, joking about the permed bangs she’s rocking.

A sneaky gem in the photo is the reminder that Mandy Moore’s real name is Amanda. Which, of course! That’s what Mandy is short for! But also strange to think of her as an Amanda.

Seeing a throwback photo of the This Is Us actress is particularly satisfying given how heavily flashbacks feature on the NBC show. Moore is playing Rebecca from her twenties through her sixties, so it’s only fitting for us to see the actress as a child. We’ve seen Jack as a boy — perhaps we’ll see Rebecca as a young girl too.

Mandy seems like a pretty big fan of the throwback Instagram. In addition to her headshot, she recently posted an oldie of the actress with her father and an extremely cute photo of her as a baby in the waves.

And this gem of her winning an MTV golden popcorn trophy for A Walk to Remember in 2002. Or, most importantly, perhaps, this classic from the summer of 1999 when Mandy Moore opened for one Justin Timberlake and his little ol’ band, *NSYNC.
