‘Supergirl’ Season 3: Mehcad Brooks teases new love interest for James, talks embracing his inner hero

‘Supergirl’s’ Mehcad Brooks on James’ new love interest, embracing his inner hero, more of the Winn and James dynamic and more!
Throughout the first season of Supergirl, the biggest question on the minds of shippers was whether Kara and James would throw caution to the wind and finally explore a relationship. As the season came to an end, shippers’ wish was granted as Kara and James appeared primed to be an item full-time when the show returned for its second season. However, the duo quickly called it quits and Kara began a new relationship with Mon-El and James reverted back to his role as a supportive friend.
With Mon-El out of the picture, even if only for a temporary period of time, could James and Kara reignite the spark that they once shared?

While Brooks was unable to share any additional details about James’s new love – such as whether this mystery woman is someone who we’ve met before – he was able to speak to the continued journey of James in terms of becoming the hero.

"“It’s fun,” Brooks commented of stepping into the spotlight and channeling his inner hero. “I think everybody on the show is a hero. I like the fact that I’m part of the charge showing that you don’t have to have superpowers to be a hero. I’m not saying that people should be vigilantes, don’t do that. (Laughs) It’s cool to know that you can change things without having been born somewhere else or have [super human abilities].”"
